There are three places where you can control how much metadata you display on your blog posts.
- On the home page summaries
- On the blog page summaries
- In an individual blog post
Homepage blog section
Once you have added a Blog posts section to your homepage you can then decide how much metadata is shown inside the section. The items you can control are:
- Show date
- Show author
- Show comment count
- Show tags
Blog page
You can decide how much metadata is shown inside the section summaries of your blog landing page. To view the Blog page section editor you have to navigate to the blog area of your website while using the theme editor.

You can then decide which of the following you wish to display in the summaries:
- Show date
- Show author
- Show comment count
- Show tags
Page settings
You can also control some aspects of the overall blog page itself
- Show tags
- Show background color
Individual blog posts
You can decide how much metadata is shown on an individual article on your blog. To view the Article section editor you have to navigate to a blog post on your website while inside the theme editor.
- Show featured image
- Show date
- Show author
- Show tags
- Show social sharing buttons
Pro tip: If you want to remove or show the comments section at the bottom of individual posts you have to enable or disable blog posts inside your Shopify Admin. For more information on handling blog posts please see this article.
